The Social Democratic Party of Kenya (SDP) is in solidarity with all people in the World that are struggling against colonialism and imperialism and for social and national liberation. This includes the people of Palestine that are struggling against the Israel fascist regime, occupation and for their right to nationhood and self - determination that includes liberation of their country that is illegally occupied and held by Israel. Indeed, this is our internationalist’s duty as a socialist party but also as human beings that we have always held and expressed in Kenya, Africa and in international forums.
Furthermore, we believe and rightly so, that however long, protracted and difficulty it may be a just struggle will ultimately triumph. Who knew South Africa will ever be liberated from apartheid that was not only based on the strongest capitalism in the African continent but also on world imperialism? The same can be said of the struggle for national liberation of Namibia, Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau and, in fact, all anti - colonial struggles in Africa and the World. The people of East Timor painfully struggled for many decades for their liberation from the gigantic fascist regime of Indonesia that had occupied their country and committed gross violations of the human rights of the colonised people, including genocides. However, the resilient patriots of East Timor ultimately liberated their country and are now free to express their national sovereignty and independence.
Today, Western Sahara which is occupied by the brutal Kingdom of Morocco is the last colony in Africa. The gallant people of Western Sahara led by the POLISARIO FRONT continue to struggle for the liberation of their country in one of the harshest human and natural conditions in the World. SDP believes that Western Sahara will be liberated one day despite the propaganda and war that the Morocco brutal regime and its allies continue to perpetrate against the people.
Similarly, however powerful it appears, Israel will not rob the people of Palestine of their just right to freedom and ancestral land for ever. The people of Palestine will never cease to fight for their liberation however long it takes. Fortunately, there is no just cause in the World that is as famous as that of the people of Palestine. Unfortunately also, there are also no people who have suffered and continue to suffer today under Israel and United States of America as the people of Palestine. SDP has always maintained that it is not enough for Kenya, African Union and majority of the members of United Nations to pass and support resolutions against Israel’s colonialism and fascism against Palestinians. Action speaks louder than words. Kenya and other nations that genuinely love freedom, peace and the right of all nations big and small to self - determination must act to condemn and isolate Israel and its imperialist collaborators. They must recognise and offer moral and material support to the people of Palestine in their just war of liberation from Israel.
Finally, SDP supports the total liberation of Palestine. The two states solution proposed by some nations and people is as reactionary as it is illogical. Just as Africa and the World could not allow white South Africans who colonised South Africa from Europe several centuries ago to curve their own nation inside South Africa, it is unacceptable for Israel which was made in Palestine only a few decades ago to curve Israel inside Palestine. Palestine must be totally liberated, Israel dissolved to allow the people of Palestine of Arab origin and the people of Israel of Jewish origin to live together peacefully in a democratic country called PALESTINE. The SDP will always be in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
