The Communist Party of Kenya (CPK) stands in unwavering solidarity with the Coalition for Revolution (CORE) and the Nigerian workers in their struggle against the oppressive and anti-poor policies of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led regime. We recognize the glaring similarities between the state of the nation in Kenya and Nigeria, where both countries suffer from the consistent interference of the dominant class in the metropole, implementing policies that perpetuate inequality and disregard the well-being of the working class.

President William Samoe Ruto of Kenya, like his Nigerian counterpart, has shown a clear alignment with neoliberal ideologies and policies that prioritize the interests of the elite over the welfare of the masses. The removal of fuel subsidies and the deregulation of local currencies implemented by both presidents have only deepened the suffering of the poor and working-class citizens. These actions reflect a pro-liberalization agenda that further exacerbates the wealth gap and hinders the path to social progress.

It is evident that both Kenya and Nigeria exist within a neo-colonial turbo capitalist system, where the exploitation of resources and labor continues to benefit foreign powers and their local collaborators. The struggle for dignity and justice requires us to break free from this oppressive system that perpetuates poverty and denies our people their rightful share of wealth.

The failures in both Kenya and Nigeria cannot be viewed in isolation. They are part of a larger African context where imperialism, neocolonialism, and capitalist exploitation have hindered the development and prosperity of our continent. As comrades in the struggle, we must recognize the interconnectedness of our battles and unite in our fight against these common oppressors.

We express our unequivocal support for the Nigerian workers and poor who have been bearing the brunt of these anti-poor policies. They have nothing to lose but their chains, and we stand with them in their pursuit of a better future. We condemn the oppressive measures taken by the Tinubu regime, including the removal of the fuel subsidy and the subsequent burden imposed on the working class. The CPK firmly believes that the struggles of the Nigerian workers are our struggles, and we will continue to lend our voice and support to their cause.

In this critical moment, we reiterate that the answer to the challenges faced by both Kenya and Nigeria lies in socialism. It is through the construction of a just and equitable society, where the means of production are owned and controlled by the workers, that we can break free from the chains of exploitation. The CPK calls upon all progressive forces to unite and join hands in the pursuit of a socialist future, where the people's welfare is prioritized over profit and where genuine freedom and dignity are realized.

Together, let us build a future where the working class and the poor are empowered, where resources are shared equitably, and where the values of justice, equality, and solidarity prevail. The struggle continues, and socialism shall be our guiding light.

Long live the solidarity between the Communist Party of Kenya and the Coalition for Revolution!

Long live the solidarity between the working class of Kenya and Nigeria!

Workers of the world, unite!

In solidarity,

September 28th, 2024   Statement by the Central Organizing Committee (COC) of the Communist Party of Kenya   On this solemn occasion, we extend our deepest condolences to the comrades in arms of Hezbollah, the Palestinian people, and the wider Resistance Axis for the martyrdom of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, who has been cowardly assassinated by the Zionist entity, Israel. His death, though a great loss to the struggle, is yet another testament to the failure of the Zionist regime's policy of eliminating leaders of the resistance. Just as the colonial  [ ... ]

Solidarity with the Artisanal Miners of Nyatike

September, 28, 2024   Statement by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kenya   The Communist Party of Kenya stands firmly in solidarity with the courageous artisanal miners of Nyatike, who have been subjected to violence and repression at the hands of corrupt political leaders and parasitic multinational corporations. The brutal attack on miners at the Macalder Copper Hill on 14th September 2024, organised by Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko and the foreign Hnuo Company, is a flagrant assault on the sovereignty, dignity, and livelihood of the people of Nyatike.   This [ ... ]

Solidarity Statement to the Lebanese Communist Party and the People of Lebanon

September 25, 2024   Issued by the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of Kenya (CPK)   The Communist Party of Kenya expresses its deepest solidarity with the Lebanese Communist Party and the courageous people of Lebanon in the face of the latest brutal acts of aggression by the Zionist entity, Israel. The criminal bombardment of Lebanon, resulting in the death of more than 1,000 martyrs, the injury of 3,000 others, and the forced displacement of half a million people, is yet another blatant act of state terrorism that can only be described as an extension of the genocida [ ... ]

25 Sep 2024 16:41

The Communist Party of Kenya (CPK) stands in unwavering solidarity with RT and all anti-imperialist media platforms, including Africa Stream and Red Media, in the face of increasing censorship and baseless accusations intended to silence voices critical of U.S. imperialism. The recent attacks on RT, framed as part of a broader narrative linking independent media to foreign state influence, represent nothing less than a calculated smear campaign to ensure the continued domination of U.S. propaganda over the global information landscape.   These actions are not merely about RT; they are a [ ... ]
