COMMUNIST PARTY MARXIST KENYA

3 July 2026

The Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party Marxist Kenya expresses its strongest condemnation of the arrest and detention of participants attending the World Anti Imperialist Youth Platform camp in Türkiye during the early hours of 1 July 2026.

The information available indicates that Turkish police raided a youth camp held in a small coastal town several hours away from both Istanbul and Ankara. The gathering consisted exclusively of internal political education, discussions, and organisational meetings among young anti imperialists. There were no public rallies, demonstrations, or distribution of political literature. The violent disruption of such a gathering cannot be justified under any democratic principle. It is a calculated act of political repression directed against organised anti imperialialist youth.

This attack is not merely an attack on those who were detained. It is an attack on the universal right of oppressed peoples to organise, educate, and unite against imperialism. It is an attack on proletarian internationalism. It is an attack on the growing unity of revolutionary youth across the world.

The Communist Party Marxist Kenya recognises this pattern because we have experienced it ourselves.

During the Pan Africanism Summit Against Imperialism in Nairobi, international delegates of the World Anti Imperialist Platform were arbitrarily arrested, harassed, and intimidated by the Kenyan state because they had gathered to strengthen international solidarity against imperialism, colonialism, Zionism, and capitalist exploitation. Those arrests were designed to intimidate revolutionary organisations and disrupt international cooperation among anti imperialialist forces.

Today, the same methods are being employed in Türkiye.

This demonstrates a fundamental truth. Imperialism is international. Its military alliances are international. Its financial institutions are international. Its intelligence networks cooperate across borders. Its repression is coordinated internationally. It should surprise no one that those who resist imperialism are increasingly subjected to similar methods of surveillance, intimidation, arbitrary detention, and criminalisation wherever they organise.

Yet history teaches another truth.

No empire has ever imprisoned an idea whose time has come.

From the prisons that held communists under colonialism, to the detention camps that sought to crush national liberation movements, every generation of revolutionaries has demonstrated that repression breeds greater resistance. Every raid exposes the fear of the ruling classes. Every arrest reveals the political bankruptcy of imperialism. Every imprisoned revolutionary inspires thousands more to continue the struggle.

The future belongs neither to NATO nor to imperialism.

The future belongs to the workers, the peasants, the revolutionary youth, and the oppressed peoples of the world.

The Communist Party Marxist Kenya conveys its unwavering solidarity to every detained comrade, to their families, to the legal teams defending them, to the World Anti Imperialist Platform, and to the World Anti Imperialist Youth Platform. We salute all organisations across the world that have already begun mobilising protests and solidarity campaigns demanding their immediate release.

We call upon communist parties, workers parties, trade unions, revolutionary youth organisations, progressive movements, and all democratic forces to intensify international solidarity through public statements, demonstrations, pickets outside Turkish diplomatic missions, and every legitimate action that increases political pressure until every detained comrade is released.

Silence only emboldens repression.

International solidarity weakens it.

Our answer to repression shall be greater unity.

Our answer to intimidation shall be greater organisation.

Our answer to imperialism shall be an even stronger international anti imperialialist movement.

Immediate and Unconditional Release of All Detained Comrades!

Hands Off the World Anti Imperialist Youth Platform!

Long Live Proletarian Internationalism!

Long Live the International Unity of Revolutionary Youth!

Down with Imperialism and NATO!

Victory to the Peoples Struggling for National Liberation, Democracy, and Socialism!

The Malindi Ruling and the Class Character of the Kenyan State
16 Aug 2026 16:09

Reflection of General Secretary Booker Omole   16 August 2026   The recent ruling of the High Court in Malindi concerning the date of Kenya’s next presidential election has generated considerable public debate. But we must refuse to view this question merely through the narrow lens of constitutional law.   Kenya is not facing a constitutional crisis. What we are witnessing is a crisis of the neocolonial state, rooted in the deeper and systemic crisis of imperialism and capitalism.   The Constitution does not exist above society. It is part of the political superstructure of a [ ... ]
